Misbah opens up on dropping Amir, Malik

Misbah opens up on dropping Amir, Malik from New Zealand tour for T20I series.

Misbah ul Haq announced the squad yesterday for New Zealand series but didn’t select the likes of Muhammad Amir, Shoaib Malik and Asad Shafique. Although fans didn’t get any troubled for Asad Shafique and Shoaib Malik but Muhammad Amir’s omission has got the eyes of everyone.

Few think, he deserved to be dropped and some think, he hasn’t done anything bad to be dropped.

But here’s how Misbah opens up on dropping Amir, Malik:

“We want to invest in young players who are probably going to represent Pakistan in all formats,” said Misbah ul Haq.

“We are not going with Muhammad Amir and Shoaib Malik because we want to develop new players for Pakistan,” he added.

“Muhammad Hafeez and Wahab Riaz have put wonderful performance in last some series. They have shown the consistency so we want to make the most of it as well,” he added further.

Misbah ul Haq who is considered to be someone who only selects the players on his favouritism rather than performances has said that they want to develop a young team which can represent Pakistan in all formats.

Shoaib Malik had 1 fifty in his last 2 games for Pakistan. On the other hand, Muhammad Amir has been purely success in this format. He has never failed in T20I format for Pakistan.

It is to be mentioned that Muhammad Amir has got dropped due to his retirement from Test cricket. As clearly mentioned by Misbah that he wants to provide a chance to only those who may represent Pakistan in all formats.

Muhammad Amir last played his game against England where he couldn’t complete his 4-overs due to an injury during the match. But he is fit at the moment and is ready to play for Pakistan again.

  3. Mr. Misbah, you talk about future, futher and future, what about present? You need to think about present first. This is the reason why Imran Khan was so great. He only cared which player will win match for the day. Since how years you been talking about future and and not even on World Cup?

  5. Firstly remove Misbah from the position as he is quite defensive and old fashion cricketor and planner. Until he will be there Pakistan will lose all the matches against good teams. Pakistan needs young players but at the same time experience players are important to win matches. Management and players should be aggressive to win matches.
