Sohaib Maqsood joins Peshawar Zalmi in place of Daren Sammy for playoffs.
Sohaib Maqsood didn’t get any bid in HBL PSL 2020 auction, so was free to be bid this time and Zalmi didn’t waste any time to get him after Daren Sammy couldn’t be available for them on 14th November. Although he will be able to travel Pakistan later on if they could qualify for further matches. Daren Sammy is Peshawar Zalmi’s mentor as well as their main player. He hand over the captaincy to Wahab Riaz in the middle of tournament. Since Wahab Riaz is leading Peshawar Zalmi very well.
Sohaib Maqsood had wonderful tournament in National T20 Cup 2020 where he scored a lot of runs. He was among the top run scorer. After sensational tournament he got the eye of Peshawar Zalmi’s management and immediately called up for the playoffs.
Multan Sultans also named Joe Denly as James Vince replacement and Brendon Taylor as Mahmudullah’s replacement. Both will represent Multan Sultans in playoffs.
Among others, Waleed Khan who accepted Islam few years back, named Parnell will replace New Zealand’s pacer in Karachi Kings squad.
The most attracting part of this HBL PSL 2020 is, that entire tournament has been played in Pakistan. The remaining matches of HBL PSL 2020 will be played in Karachi National Stadium.
Coming back to Sohaib Maqsood, he was among the hot picks, a local sensational always put more than others, his recent form is also hinting at bigger performances for Peshawar Zalmi.
After Sohaib Maqsood, Peshawar Zalmi’s team have become one of the most balanced teams after Kamran Akmal, Imam ul Haq, Haider Ali, Shoaib Malik and some others.
Wahab Riaz will captain Peshawar Zalmi. Shan Masood will lead Multan Sultans, Sohail Akhtar to Lahore Qalandars and Imad Wasim to Karachi Kings in the tournament.
